Brian lost 70 pounds! †
In 2015, I was living in Arizona and I weighed 355 pounds. I was miserable, was sleeping with a CPAP, had soreness in my feet and knees, had trouble going up and down stairs, and was not in a good place mentally. I had a little bit of an intervention and decided to join a medical weight loss clinic in Tucson, AZ. Through this program, I lost a whopping 130 pounds! And my life changed drastically. I no longer need a CPAP. My feet and knees were no longer sore. I could keep up with my family and play with my children. I was able to take part in activities that I had not been able to do in a long time. With inspiration from my son, I took up cycling and got into mountain biking. I discovered an entirely new aspect of my life that I had been missing and it was glorious! Fast forward about two years. I was still in Arizona, but I was off the program that I had started. I was in their maintenance program, and doing pretty well. Every now and then old habits would sneak in, but for the most part I was able to maintain. In October of 2017 I was involved in a mountain bike accident that resulted in a broken clavicle. This took me off the bike for a good 3 months while I recuperated. Although I did gain some of my weight back prior to this, this time I lost my grip on the good eating habits I had learned from the program and start allowing old habits to come back in. At the same time, I interviewed for and accepted a new job in Orlando, FL. With all of the excitement of getting ready to move out to Orlando (first me and then my family) I found it brutally difficult to get back into any sort of healthy eating program. By May of 2018, I had gained 70 pounds. I was feeling it, too. Cycling wasn’t as easy, the soreness in my knees and feet were coming back, and I just didn’t have the energy I had before. After months of trying to get back into the swing of things, I finally decided I needed help again. By this time (June of last year) I was working full time at my new job here in Orlando. The Arizona-based medical weight loss clinic I went to didn’t have an office in Florida. So I searched for other options. I did find other clinics that had similar programs, but then I found Medi-Weightloss® in a directory of employee discount offers on my employer’s web site. I looked into them and was intrigued by their program. Particularly the fact that they didn’t use medication to achieve their results. My previous program, while I feel was a necessary option for me at the time, used an HCG-based medication to help people have success on the program. I had decided that I wanted to do something a little more natural. I didn’t need medication to put the weight on, and I wanted to learn how to get the weight off without it as well. I wanted to learn techniques I could employ without the need to see a medical specialist. I made an appointment with Medi-Weightloss® and the rest is history. I talked with the doctor on staff, the nutritionists, and was pleased that the program seemed workable and something I could do. It would help me achieve my goals of doing things more naturally, and it cost much less than the other programs I was finding. What tipped the hat for me was the fact that my insurance would cover the expenses. Over the course of the next four to five months, I dropped those 70 pounds I had put on. Not at any time was I ever discouraged. The staff was always welcoming and non-judgmental. I was given really good coaching and guidance over the course of my program. I’m still on the program because life happens. I went into a maintenance phase, but not gracefully. Stresses of life crept in, and I find that I need to get back on the program to help get back to a point where I can try getting onto maintenance again in a couple of months. Since my time on the Medi-Weightloss® Program, I have been able to get back to a more active lifestyle. The impact of getting the weight off has been tremendous. It affects a person physically, emotionally, and mentally. I hope to use the program to get to a weight I haven’t been at since my teens. And then just keep on going!
