Biography
Dr. Macklin Guzmán is a clinical epidemiologist, translational scientist, and healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in public health, clinical research, chronic-disease prevention, and evidence-based healthcare innovation. As Chief Science and Quality Officer at Medi-Weightloss®, he leads clinical science, research and development, quality, patient safety, clinical standards, provider education, and product innovation for a national network of medically supervised weight-management practices.
Dr. Guzmán earned his Doctor of Health Science degree and Graduate Certificate in Global Health from Nova Southeastern University, his Master of Public Health with training in epidemiology and health administration and policy from Yale University, and his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University.
His areas of expertise include obesity medicine, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, clinical epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, health-services research, global health, and patient outcomes. As a principal investigator, he has led and contributed to clinical research evaluating the effects of medically supervised weight management on metabolic health and chronic-disease risk.
His work focuses on translating scientific evidence into practical clinical standards, provider education, quality systems, and individualized treatment strategies that improve patient outcomes.
