Jodi lost 138 pounds!

Weight has been an issue for me for as long as I can remember. I have tried multiple programs and every fad diet over the years, finding success with some, but always gaining the weight back. Not finding a way to keep the weight off led to depression, emotional eating, and additional weight gain. This vicious cycle continued for years until I found myself at my heaviest weight. The realization that I needed to make a change came while playing at the park with my granddaughter. At her insistence, I climbed to the top of the slide only to discover that I didn't fit and couldn't slide down with her. I was embarrassed, sad, and angry that I had let myself become a person that would have to sit on the sidelines and watch everyone else enjoying life. With another grandchild on the way, I knew I didn't want to live like this anymore. That was the day I decided to change my way of life forever. I began researching weight loss programs, knowing that I needed certain elements to be successful. My search for a science-based, physician-supervised program led me to Medi-Weightloss® in Southlake, Texas. I made an appointment for a consultation, even though I wasn't convinced that the program would work for me. On the day of my appointment, I was skeptical. I looked at the numbers: a weight that I couldn't believe, extremely high blood pressure, a BMI well within the morbidly obese range, and an abnormal pulse. How was I walking around and hadn't had significant health issues related to all of this? I was asked if I had a goal for how much weight I wanted to lose. I responded "100 pounds" without giving it much thought. That day, July 29, 2019, was the day my life started over. I figured if I was going to make a goal, it might as well be one that I never thought I could achieve. I signed up that very day. I took all of the materials home; I did my grocery shopping with a much keener eye than ever before and I began my journey. During the week, I weighed and measured every helping of food, I wrote every bite I took in my journal and I drank more water than I thought was humanly possible. I called the office when I had questions, always getting the help and support that I needed. Suddenly, I didn't feel alone in this battle! I had a team ready to help me succeed. I returned a week later for the first weigh-in and found success on the scale. For the first time in a very long time, I felt like I could do it. The Medi-Weightloss® Program has provided me with the tools I need to successfully lose weight. Each week when I go in for my appointment, I know that there will be someone there who will listen to my struggles, provide valuable advice, and celebrate every success, no matter how large or small it may be. The staff holds me accountable by reviewing my food journal each week and providing input on the choices I am making. Although I am not a fan of needles, the bloodwork that is done at different intervals has also provided me with information regarding my overall health. As I see the numbers on the scale decrease, I see improvement in my overall health. In January 2020, I made an appointment with my doctor for my annual physical. My doctor was amazed at the difference not only in my physical appearance and health but also in my emotional health. She was encouraged by the changes in my bloodwork and the reduction of my blood pressure. She noticed that I was happier and far more confident than she had ever seen. She asked me for information about Medi-Weightloss® to share with other patients, and I gladly provided it to her. My journey is far from over, however, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. On March 10, 2020, I stepped on the scale and discovered that my initial unattainable goal of losing 100 pounds had become a reality. I couldn't believe it! The whole staff celebrated with me! Balloons, music, the works! This was a moment that I honestly didn't believe would ever happen for me. As of my last weigh-in, I am down 103.5 pounds and well on the way to hitting my ultimate goal. That goal is not as much about a number on a scale but rather a healthy BMI and blood pressure which doesn't require medication to remain normal. Medi-Weightloss® has taught me how to manage the emotional eating that once ruled my life, it has taught me how to make healthy food choices that will benefit my body rather than just satisfy my latest cravings, and it has given me a team that will support me now and forever. I know that with the continued support, I will lose the weight and be able to keep it off for the first time ever. Medi-Weightloss® has given me my life back! Oh, and by the way, last week I not only played at the park with my granddaughter, but I also slid down the slide right behind her!
