Are you looking for ways to stay connected to those you love while also adhering to social distancing rules? We know that this can be a difficult time for many and finding ways to stay close to friends and family can make a world of difference when it comes to your emotional health. We thought we would share some creative ways to stay connected, even when you have to be apart.

  • Drive-Thru Celebrations: Make a sign, get some balloons, and drive by your loved one’s home for a drive-thru celebration! You can even leave a gift by the curb and have them pick it up once you have safely driven away. Several people have done this for birthday celebrations, baby showers, anniversaries, etc. Do a quick Google search for fun sign ideas!
  • Zoom Video Calls: Consider sending an invite to your whole family for a weekly or biweekly zoom video call. Each person will populate as a small box on the screen and all of you can see each other. Doesn’t matter where in the world you are, Zoom can bring you together.
  • Facebook Live: Do you have a favorite healthy recipe that you want to share with your loved ones? You could go live on Facebook and show your friends how you make your dish! Everyone that is tuned in can comment and chat with you while you are recording. Check out our Signature Patient Website for recipes to share!
  • Work it Out: Consider setting up a time to go for a walk or bike ride with a friend. The fresh air might be just what you need! While out, be sure to keep 6 feet of space between each other.

Get creative! We encourage you to take this time to try out new ways to reach out to those who you care about. Even though we have to be physically apart doesn’t mean we can’t stay close!
