Kenneth Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell attended college at Harding University in Arkansas. He received his medical degree from University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1981, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University in 1985. He is currently a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the American College of OB/GYN and maintains his board certification in both. Dr. Mitchell has an ongoing interest in third world medicine using his surgical skills in Guatemala, Central America and Malawi, East Africa. He is a licensed gynecologist in Malawi working with Blessings Hospital in the capital city of Lilongwe. His interest is in the repair of pelvic floor prolapse and obstetrical fistula injury. Dr. Mitchell is also working on his second children’s book inspired by his five wonderful grandchildren. On December 31, 2007 Dr. Mitchell retired from his private practice of OB/GYN, and today his practice is limited to Bariatric Medicine through |company|. Dr. Mitchell is confident that he is fulfilling the call of medicine in the promotion of health with lifestyle change.
